This is the most important thing on this page, so it comes before the legal machinery.

Everything published on this site — condition pages, service pages, articles, frequently asked questions — is general information. It is not a diagnosis, it is not treatment, and it is not advice about you or about any particular person. Reading it, or contacting us through it, does not create a clinician–client relationship. That relationship begins when you have an appointment with one of our psychologists, and not before.

No page on this site can tell you what is happening to you or to somebody you care about. Only a qualified clinician who has assessed that person can. The full position is set out in our medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

This site is not a crisis service and is not monitored around the clock. If you or somebody else is in immediate danger, do not use this website, our email or our messaging channels to seek help — here is what to do instead.

If you cancel or move the appointment within 24 hours of the session, the booking payment is not refunded. That applies to cancellations and to reschedules alike, and it applies where the change is made by you.

If your psychologist moves the appointment, the booking payment is refunded on request — or, if you prefer, it is carried over and counted as the booking payment for your next session. That is your choice, not ours.

This is PHC's own refund position, in PHC's own words: “For cancellations and reschedules that are made by the client within 24 hours of the session, the booking payments are non-refundable. If the reschedule is initiated by the therapist, the booking payment can be refunded upon the client's request or it can be counted as the booking payment for the next session.” It applies to a booking payment PHC has received for an appointment in its own diary.

⚠️ The external booking page sets its own cancellation terms and they are not the same as these. If you book through phc.setmore.com, read the terms shown there, and ask PHC if the two look different — the 24-hour rule above is PHC's position on a payment PHC has received.

Information you give us. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide when enquiring — including the name and age of the person who will attend. We rely on them to match you to an appropriate psychologist.

Appointments for children and for others. Where you arrange an appointment for a child or for another adult, you confirm that you are entitled to do so as their parent, legal guardian or otherwise.

Booking through an external service. There is no payment page on this site and no online checkout, and nothing on this website takes a payment or holds an appointment. You can enquire on WhatsApp, by telephone or by email — whichever you prefer — and a person at PHC arranges the appointment with you. PHC also takes bookings on a booking page of its own at phc.setmore.com, which is run by Setmore and is a separate website from this one. Following that link takes you off this site: the terms on which a booking is made there, including what is paid and when, are set out on that page, and Setmore's own terms and privacy policy govern what you enter on it. The messaging and email services you choose to reach us on likewise have their own terms and privacy policies, and what that means for your information is set out in our privacy policy.

Material on this site is provided for lawful purposes only and may not be used for any unlawful purpose.

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and require that people who use this website do the same. If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send the following to the address below:

1. A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed;
2. A description of the alleged infringing activity, and where the allegedly infringing material is located;
3. A statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by you, the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
4. An electronic or physical signature of the person authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest; and
5. A statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the copyright owner's behalf.
